Well, I’ve been assigned the daunting task of beginning the AndcoManagement.com blog. I thought the most interesting way to begin was to share some of the strange, funny, poignant or just plain dumb stories that we’ve experienced over the past 29 years. I guess my most memorable “dumb” story was from a beauty queen who was one of our tenants about 25 years ago. Keep in mind, this was before we had portable phones, cell phones or other mobile communications. She called one day in early November to let me know that she had called the city on us. When I asked her why, she said “because we didn’t turn the heat on in the building yet, and she was really cold.” I asked her if she was at home, to which she replied yes. I asked her if she was on her kitchen phone, and she said yes. I told her to turn around, and look for the little box on the wall. “Do you see the little box?” She said she did. I let her know that the little box was called a thermostat, and when she wanted heat, she turned the temperature up to the temperature she wanted her apartment warmed to….and then she hung up on me.
